Operating ten warehouses across the USA, our client was eager to propel their business expansion. With the goal of streamlining warehouse operations, they envisioned a tailor-made web application to mitigate errors, accelerate processes, and enhance overall efficiency to support their scaling endeavors.

Immersed in the realm of warehouse app development, we embarked on a journey of discovery through countless stakeholder interviews. Each conversation, spanning hours, was a quest for understanding. As non-experts in Amazon's domain, we delved deep into the nuances, driven by a thirst for comprehensive comprehension. Without a dedicated product manager, the onus fell on us to grasp every intricacy, shaping our goals, objectives, scope, timeline, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) along the way.

Immersed in the realm of warehouse app development, we embarked on a journey of discovery through countless stakeholder interviews. Each conversation, spanning hours, was a quest for understanding. As non-experts in Amazon's domain, we delved deep into the nuances, driven by a thirst for comprehensive comprehension. Without a dedicated product manager, the onus fell on us to grasp every intricacy, shaping our goals, objectives, scope, timeline, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) along the way.

We wanted to minimizing returns issues and improving customer satisfaction due to delays in processing shipments, we brainstormed and designed a solution to address this issue.


  • Customized Return Tracking System: We developed a customized return tracking system with dashboard that allows us to monitor the return deadlines for each individual item within a group shipment.

  • Enhanced Communication Channels: We implemented enhanced communication channels to facilitate direct communication with customers regarding their return shipments. Through these channels, we can reach out to customers to offer alternative solutions, such as expedited shipping services within the country, providing photo and video evidence of return shipments, or splitting the shipment into multiple parcels based on return deadlines.

When our client approached us, their brand was in its infancy, represented only by a logo. We needed more than just analyzing competitors. We needed to develop a unique brand positioning.

We thoroughly studied the design and functionality of similar products on the market. This helped us identify their strengths and weaknesses, determine best practices, and current industry trends.

At the same time, we conducted a workshop with our client to better understand their values, mission, and expectations for the future product. This allowed us to create a brand image that meets user expectations. We decided that the brand should be like a wizard, able to manage the process behind the scenes and do everything with ease. To achieve this, we chose bright colors, large headings, and animations in a cartoon style to create an atmosphere of magic and ease.

After testing our UX/UI design with employees, we continued to refine our work, focusing on UI/UX and branding aspects. We added subtle animations, delivered a brand guide, and finalized the UI kit. As a result, the client returned to us for assistance with their second product.


What We Learned:

  • Operating without project and product managers is challenging but feasible. We assessed the workload and divided tasks accordingly, often working in parallel while maintaining constant communication.

  • Avoiding assumptions on behalf of the client is a crucial skill. During the branding and strategy development process, the option I least expected to be favored turned out to be the client's top choice.

  • Working in a new domain is not daunting but rather intriguing. While designing this project, I experienced moments of clarity when solving complex challenges, which was immensely rewarding.

  • Effective communication and delegation are paramount, especially when working independently.
